Maintaining Universal Primary Education: Lessons from Commonwealth Africa
The report of a research project of the Council led by Lalage Bown. Copies can be purchased at a special, members rate of five pounds plus postage and packing
This important piece of work is the report of a research team from the Council for Education in the Commonwealth which investigated some possible reasons why University Primary Education in Kenya, Tanzania, Ghana, Nigeria and Zambia had been almost achieved, but had not been maintained. It was presented in draft to the Cape Town Conference of Commonwealth Education Ministers and the final publication was launched at the recent UKFIET conference in Oxford. 
The cost to members of the CEC is £5 (one quarter of the published price of £20) plus £1.50 for postage and packing.
