Commonwealth Educational Co-operation - Looking Ahead at 50
An important conference was held in Oxford celebrating 50 years of Commonwealth Education on Tuesday 31st. March and Wednesday 1st. April
This conference celebrated half a century of educational co-operation between Commonwealth member states. In 1959, the first Commonwealth Education Conference was held in Oxford and the Council for Education in the Commonwealth was founded.This conference was led by a distinguished gathering of Commonwealth educationalists including the Hon. Nahas Angula, Prime Minister of Namibia and for many years, an education minister, the Hon Naledi Pandor, Minister of Education of South Africa, Ronald Jones, Minister of Education and Human Resource Development of Barbados, Narcisco Matos from Mozambique, Gujaraj Dhanarafan from Wawasan Open University, Malaysia and a wealth of others.
